Overview

Bare Snugs came to Integral Product Services with an idea anyone who feels the cold will understand: keeping your legs warm usually means long johns, and long johns mean bulk at the waist and a full undress for every bathroom break.

The product, called Bare Snugs, is a dual-layer thermal leg warmer that covers the leg from the upper thigh to the midfoot. A warm layer sits inside, a flexible layer sits outside, and an elastic cuff at the thigh is designed to keep it in place. There’s nothing at the waist, so your regular pants fit as usual.

Bare Snugs already had a website, but it was set up as an online store showing the product as in stock, even though it wasn’t in production yet. It also carried placeholder text and claims that couldn’t be backed up yet.

Our role was to reposition the brand for where the product actually is today: in development and heading toward production. We rebuilt the website around a waitlist, gave the founder a private dashboard to watch it grow, and are moving the site onto IPS hosting so it won’t need a separate monthly WordPress plan.

The Challenge

Bare Snugs had a simple, relatable product, but the old setup was working against it.

Key challenges included:

  • Explaining in a few seconds what the product is and how it’s different from long johns or ordinary leg warmers
  • Replacing a store checkout with a better next step for a product that isn’t for sale yet
  • Showing the product honestly, with concept images clearly labeled as concepts
  • Removing placeholder content and claims that couldn’t be verified yet
  • Capturing interest now, so there’s a list of buyers ready on launch day

Without a clear message and a way to capture interest, early visitors leave and don’t come back.

Bare Snugs needed a simple product story, a site built for the stage the product is in, and a way to measure demand before spending on manufacturing.

Our Approach

1. Product Positioning & Messaging

We started by defining the core benefit behind Bare Snugs.

Rather than presenting it as just another leg warmer, we focused on the result people want:

Warm legs without the long johns.

This message speaks directly to people who get cold easily, work or exercise in cold places, or want an extra layer without bulk under their clothes.

Our work included:

  • Positioning and headline messaging
  • Plain-language explanations of the two layers, the tapered shape and the elastic thigh cuff
  • A simple 3-step “how it works” story: slip on, settle the cuff, dress as usual
  • Honest status labels: coming soon, concept images, specs marked as planned

2. Waitlist Website & Dashboard

With the message set, we rebuilt the Bare Snugs website as a fast, mobile-friendly waitlist website in her own brand colors and fonts.

Every button invites visitors to join the waitlist with their email, instead of sending them to a checkout for a product that isn’t available yet.

Key elements included:

  • A clear hero with the main benefit and a single call to action
  • Problem vs. solution, how it works, features and FAQ sections
  • A short privacy policy page for the waitlist
  • Redirects from the old store pages, ready for the switch, so old links and bookmarks will still land in the right place
  • A private dashboard for the founder showing total signups, daily growth, milestones, where each signup came from, ready-made share links and a QR code

The website became the central place to introduce the product and start building an audience.

3. Launch Foundation & Hosting

Finally, we set Bare Snugs up so it’s ready to grow into a full launch.

This included:

  • Moving the website to IPS hosting, so it won’t need a separate monthly WordPress plan
  • Pointing the domain to the new site with a secure (HTTPS) connection
  • Saving a full backup of the old store before the switch, so nothing is lost
  • A waitlist that becomes the launch-day email list
  • A site that can add checkout later, when the product is ready to sell

Rather than launching cold, Bare Snugs can now build demand first and launch to people who’ve already raised their hand.

The Results

✓ Clear product story
Visitors can see what Bare Snugs is and why it beats long johns within seconds.

✓ A website that fits the stage
The new Bare Snugs site captures interest with a waitlist instead of a checkout for a product that isn’t available yet.

✓ A way to measure demand
The private dashboard shows how the waitlist grows and which channels bring signups.

✓ Lower running costs
Once the move is done, the site won’t need a separate monthly WordPress hosting plan.

✓ Launch-ready foundation
Bare Snugs has a waitlist that becomes its launch-day email list, and a site ready to add checkout when production begins.
